The Emilia-Romagna Region supports the development of the Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform (STEP), established by Regulation (EU) 2024/795. STEP is the initiative promoted by the European Commission to support competitiveness and strengthen the strategic autonomy of the Union through targeted investments in critical technologies. The three strategic sectors identified are:
- Digital technologies and deep-tech innovation
- Biotechnologies
- Clean and resource-efficient technologies
The role of the Bologna-Ozzano Technopole
Within this strategic framework, our Technopole presents its regional Translational BioHub, with a focus on the implementation of prototype platforms for therapeutic proteins, gene and RNA therapies, flanked by innovative nanomedicine-based delivery solutions. The project benefits from scientific collaboration with the Nanotech Lab Te.Far.T.I. (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia), with a view to integrating research, technology transfer and industrial development.
Toward a competitive health ecosystem at the European level
The Bio Hubs presentation is part of the larger framework of the institutional and strategic networking event in Brussels, where Clust-ER Health has activated a dialogue with European institutions aimed at enhancing the Emilia-Romagna health ecosystem.
